I hate to be one of those friend's only people, but I am. Why? Because I'm nosy and I want to know who's reading it. And also because I'm a bitch and don't want people I don't like/know reading it.

And if you're not on my friends list, it's most likely because I don't know who you are. Every so often I purge the friends list and cut away people if I don't remember why they were there in the first place or if they haven't been active in awhile.

So now you know. If you really think you ought to be on my friends list, and you don't think I'll know why, feel free to plea your case.

It was awesome fun lining up for the book. I'm glad I did it.

There was a "roving magician" performing card tricks and stuff, and he was quite clever. He told a girl next to me to say the magic word and she couldn't think of one so I was like *cough*AVADA KADAVRA!*cough* and everyone was so scandalised. It was classic. I wish I'd dressed up like Bella, that would have been so amusing. Would have probably got the beats though :P

I loved the new Harry Potter book. Fucking awesome. I laughed, I cried. It's important you read it.

I had a most fun weekend in Nelson. We've printed out the wedding invitations, and Brad's Mum cut them all out for us (yay!!!). I had a makeup trial, and am reasonably happy with it (although I still want false eyelashes... I'm such an eyelash whore). I also tried on my wedding dress for the first time and it fits!! Hoorah! And I'm very happy with it, although it still needs a bit of work. No photos though, Mum wouldn't take any because she wants it to be a surprise or something... eh.

I decided this morning that people who organise their life around coffee really annoy me. I had to cover reception this morning so the receptionist could go and pick her coffee up. And when I cover her lunch shift, she's usually late back because she's getting another coffee, and then she's event later because she has to go and put more sugar in it. And I'm all, why should I be put out because you need coffee? Why should my lunch hour always be 5 minutes shorter just because you have developed a routine?

Why is it cool to be addicted to coffee? If you can't function without your morning coffee... how is that a good thing? People who think it's necessary to tell me that they can't do anything before coffee really bug me - a) why should I care? b) do you really think it makes you cool to have a reliance on an unnecessary addition to your life (as opposed to not being able to live without water or food...)?

If I told you I couldn't function properly without a glass of bourbon or a couple of E with my breakfast, wouldn't you think I had a problem?

I'm not saying coffee is bad for you, but if you rely on a substance to function normally, that's just not right. If your addiction to anything seriously interrupts your life, then maybe you should do something about it. If it interrupts other people's lives, then you should definately do something about it. It's something to think about anyway, imho.


Please note that I'm not having a go at coffee drinkers (of which my fiance is one, and of course I love him), just making observations. I have in the past been "addicted" to many things, including Green Tea and Mrs Higgins Chewy Caramel Cookies. Once I cried in the bathroom at work because I desperately needed some cookies but they didn't have my flavour.

Today I tried on my wedding shoes before they are sent off to be dyed. I'm not 100% in love with them, but I can walk in them and I suppose that's the important thing.

Then I SAW BEKA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I am 100% in love with her so that really made my day.

Well, I've had a very good four days. On Saturday we went suit-hiring for the wedding and the boys all looked omgwow spectacular in morning (mourning? :P) suits, even if they didn't think so (although Brad is right that perhaps the mohawk doesn't quite fit the picture).

The Dress has been progressing... it's turned out better than I expected, but not quite as good as I hoped... I've had the most glorious time with all the pretty fabric. I'm such a fabric whore, I just can't get enough of it. It's a serious addiction, and possibly unhealthy (but mostly harmless, apart from the whole bank account side of things). Sometimes I miss working at Spotlight (gaspno!) just because I adored being surrounded by fabric. Getting to tidy up all the pretties was such a joy...

yes, well.

Anyway, I haven't finished it yet, there's still a way to go. I shudder at the thought of reliving this whole process twice more with the bridesmaid dresses. That's a job for next month though.

Well, as you may or may not know I've taken Monday and Tuesday off work to make the dress. I actually started it yesterday and it's going very well so far. God, it's just beautiful fabric I want to be buried in it please (even though it has to be the least-goth colour in the world :P).

Naturally, despite planning my trip to Spotlight for several weeks, I forgot to get eyelets and interfacing and a zip for the skirt.... retarded. So instead of spending two hard core days in from of the sewing machine I might have to go into town first thing tomorrow which annoys me. It's a yucky day outside today, but maybe Brad and I will end up doing our lets-go-into-town-because-we-can thing which would save me a trip tomorrow.

Anyhoo, the whole point of this post was just to express my joy at having pretty fabric and that everything has gone right so far and I'm very pleased I decided to do it. Hurrah!

You know what I love? People who call dresses "Frocks" or "Pinafores" - total old school cute!

I caved in and bought "The Great Snape Debate" from Borders yesterday, and it's turned out to be a very good read, although not formatted in a way that I would have done it. Any Potter geeks out there are welcome to borrow it once Brad and I have read it, as it's going to be pretty redundent in a month's time, so might as well get as much use out of it before then as possible

This time next week I will be at home sewing my WEDDING DRESS!! Three cheers for annual leave, HURRAH!

I really want to make more Lolita dresses, but I'm kinda stumped for ideas... I've done black with white lace to death. I adore pink and purple, but if I go down the sweet loli route I don't have any approprate shoes... I only own black shoes (plus a couple of red) and I've already got a bunch of dresses that I never wear because I don't have any shoes that go with them. Life is so difficult sometimes.

I can't really afford fabric at the moment anyway, but I like fantasising about new outfits to sew.

And because everyone loves pictures, I recently made a purple and black dress based on this Angelic Pretty dress:



Mine didn't turn out quite that nice, but I love purple. I need an Occassion to wear it.

It's winter now and this depresses me. Three months til spring.


In other news, BEBO is so, so much cooler than MYSPACE. Seriously, get a Bebo. And add me. *addicted* Do it.


And I had a great weekend. I forced myself to be social and hence didn't spend much time at home for a change. I <3 Girls Nights and Lolitas. And Heath Ledger.

Oh, and Brad. Of course.

Incidentally it's our two and a half year anniversary. Crazy train. It's both a long time and not very long at all. Like, neither of us have been in a relationship that long (apart from my affair with Snape, but that was pretty one sided and unhealthy), but compared to the REST OF OUR LIVES, 2.5yrs is nothing.

Today I wore my evil bunny dress. I feel pretty.

I did three people's work on Monday, and 2 people's work yesterday, so technically that was 5 days work and I should now be happily enjoying my weekend.

Only I'm at work. Doing my own job and still covering for another secretary (who is away until 12 June).


Anyway, good things are coming. I get to hang with both my bridesmaids over the weekend, and am going to my first Lolita Meet, how very cute. I can't decide which dress to wear, they're both pretty crappy.

Today I am wearing a new top and it is Violet and Stripey. Excellent.


I have also applied for leave for two days next month to make my wedding dress, and 9.5 days in September to get married and stuff. Most Exciting, I love not being at work.

At two completely separate parties on the weekend I was approached by several people who wanted to know if I thought Snape is Good or Bad.

For the record... I think he's neither, but is sucking up to both sides (getting in with V so he doesn't kill him, and greasing up to the Order so he doesn't get put in Azkaban - he likes the easiness of leading a good life, but it's obvious he's fascinated with the dark side, and I think he likes the security of knowing they wont kill him while he's on their side).

I also think Voldemort knows he's spying on him, and is only allowing it becuase Snape is very useful to him as a spy... now that DD is dead and he clearly can't go back to the Order, I think his usefulness will be over and V will kill him.... he will definately die in the next book, although I do have doubts as to who will do it.
